Construction Process of Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) (Installation Steps)

01. Construction Preparation
- Material Preparation: Prepare Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) panels, adhesive mortar, anchors, sealant, and other necessary materials, ensuring all materials meet quality standards.
- Tool Preparation: Get the required tools ready, such as an electric mixer, trowel, straightedge, chalk line, steel ruler, etc.
- Substrate Treatment: Clean the substrate wall surface by removing oil stains, dust, and loose materials, ensuring it is flat, dry, and firm. The plastering layer should not have bubbles or sand loss, and its quality should meet intermediate plastering standards.
- Flatness and Verticality Requirements: Use a 2-meter straightedge for inspection, ensuring deviations are within 4mm. For inner and outer corners, measure with a 2-meter straightedge, ensuring gap width does not exceed 5mm.

02. Measurement and Layout
- Based on the architectural design drawings and on-site conditions, determine the installation position and dimensions of the EIFS panels.
- Use a chalk line to mark horizontal and vertical control lines on the substrate wall as a reference for installation.
03. Adhesive Mortar Mixing
- According to the product instructions, mix the adhesive with water in a specific ratio. Stir the mixture evenly and let it sit for a while to allow full maturation.
- The mixed adhesive mortar must be used within the specified time to avoid reduced bonding performance due to expiration.
04. Bonding the EIFS Panels
- Apply adhesive mortar evenly on the back of the EIFS panel with a thickness of 3-5mm.
- Attach the panel to the substrate wall according to the marked control lines, ensuring the flatness and verticality meet the required standards.
- The installation should proceed from bottom to top and left to right. The gap between adjacent panels should be controlled within the specified range.
- Use a leveling straightedge to ensure surface flatness. Panel joints should be tightly aligned. Do not apply or squeeze adhesive onto the panel sides to avoid cracking.
05. Installing Anchors
- After the EIFS panels are securely bonded, install mechanical anchors at the four corners and center of each panel to enhance stability.
- The number and position of the anchors should comply with design specifications. The anchors must penetrate the substrate wall to the required depth to ensure firm and reliable fixation.

06. Joint Sealing Treatment
- After panel installation, seal the joints between adjacent EIFS panels using weather-resistant silicone sealant.
- Before sealing, clean dust and debris from the gaps. Apply the sealant evenly, filling the gaps completely and ensuring it is flush with the panel surface.
- The sealant joints should be smooth and level, with firm and aesthetically pleasing edges to prevent water infiltration. The sealant surface should be slightly recessed by 1-2mm from the panel surface.
- Ensure consistent alignment at internal and external corners without misalignment.

07. Cleaning and Inspection
- After construction, clean the site by removing debris and construction waste.
- Conduct a quality inspection of the installed EIFS panels, checking for compliance in flatness, verticality, adhesion strength, and sealing performance.
